A sports commentator, blogger, and contrarian with a passion for sports who is not always going to tell you what you want to hear but what you need to hear.

BRENT BAUM

Hello, my name is

Born and raised in Montgomery County I developed a passion for Philadephia sports teams, including the Eagles, 76ers, and Phillies.

From an early age, I cultivated this passion for sports debates, discussing sports topics for hours with classmates and friends.

"I am not only your favorite Contrarian,

I'm the only Contrarian."

Some may describe me as a rebel or a “Contrarian”, for I tend to hold opinions that aren't' the most popular. I became more intrigued by innovating talking points that are against the grain and unique.

I am passionate about analyzing and understanding the strategies and narratives of sports. From the inception of a front office building a winning franchise to the dynamic storytelling of sports.

In addition, I enjoy the entertainment side of sports from Twitter and Instagram posts to the red carpet fashion statements and the WAGS .

With those experiences, I learn my purpose in life. My purpose is to inform and entertain people about sports, for I want to create a platform for people to have fun while confident in voicing their opinions.

I hope to use this website as a platform to put forth a wide assortment of multimedia content from my web show “I Rest My Case TV” and "The Vortex (BLOG)" as a way for viewers to get involved by voicing their own opinions and be better informed with sports in the media.

"I'm not here to tell you what you want to hear,

but what you need to hear.

I graduated from Cheltenham High School, where I played varsity basketball for two years.

After high school, I stopped playing basketball competitively.

However, I knew that I wanted to still be involved in sports, so I attended the Unversity of Temple in order to pursue a career in sports media.

While I was at Temple, I didn't know exactly the name of the position I wanted in sports media, but I knew I wanted it to be on a platform where I could share my opinions.

As I entered my senior year at Temple, I realized my dream was to become a sports personality and pundit on television and radio.

After graduating Temple with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication I interned 1490 WBCB AM Radio in Levittown, Pennsylvania.

For two years At 1490 WBCB, I interned as a sports talk show host, news/sports anchor, producer, and remote engineer.

I learned from legendary Voice of the Philadelphia Eagles Merrill Reese. Along with prominent sports personalities in the Philly area, including Paul Jolovitz and Bill Werndl.

I also interned at the Philadelphia Daily News for a few months where I had a great experience, covering high school football for both the Philadelphia Catholic and Public Leagues.

My published work at the Philadelphia Daily News can be found on my website by clicking here.

Aside from sports, my interests include:

  • Photography

  • Filming

  • Fashion

  • Cooking

  • Psychology

  • Reading

On television, I watch World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), General Hospital, and the suspenseful rose ceremonies of ABC’s "The Bachelor and Bachelorette".

Ultimately, I want this to be an authentic experience for all because this contrarian isn't holding anything back. Let the debate begin!

Sincerely,

I am an absolute foodie from barbecuing in the summer to baking, and cooking cuisines, such as lasagna.
